Alison Hinton

I have over 30 years practice in the social care industry, providing leadership & consultancy to a number of organisations & local authorities throughout the UK, focusing on quality care & meeting the needs of young people. I'm an enthusiastic and dedicated health care sector professional who enjoys being part of - as well as leading - teams to strive for excellence. 

​

After several decades of working within children's services, I remain passionate in providing tailored support, whilst keeping the needs of children, young people & their families at the heart of professional practice. 

​

My experience stems from working throughout the UK to also providing strategic support to the States of Guernsey - improving the lives of young people. 

​

This has led me to building AH Consultants to a professional organisation with tailored support & sector professionals who can make a real difference to organisational delivery, whilst improving the outcomes for children. 

​

MY QUALIFICATIONS

demonstrated experience

I have extensive experience in training care professionals and mentoring staff on a consultancy and strategic level in both individual and group settings, focussing on high levels of achievement (with an overarching aim of providing outstanding results for children's services) and personal goals. I am an experienced trainer & consultant which includes training up to QCF level 5, CSE, Trauma Informed Care, Health and Safety, Behaviour Management and a PRICE training instructor.

I'm experienced in leading and driving teams and organisations forward across a range of direct and indirect  services to improve the outcomes of vulnerable individuals.

 

I have previously held managerial positions & have led forward challenging teams, providing success & the best organisational outcomes, focussing on organisational ethos & the safeguarding and wellbeing of young people.

 

I have vast experience and knowledge of young people who have complex SEMH, learning needs/difficulties, attachment, trauma, sexual exploitation and trafficking.

MY APPROACH

holistic & reflective practises

I'm experienced in working within a therapeutic community & have implemented models of care including TCI (Therapeutic Crisis Intervention), PRICE (Protecting Rights In A Child's Environment) AND (NFPS) National Federation For Personal Safety.

I now work with a number of organisations & authorities on a consultancy level throughout the UK & channel islands. 

​

I have been instrumental in the development of children's services in The States of Guernsey & continue to conduct regulation 44 visits & inspections and consultancy in readiness for Ofsted registration & thus, the ongoing monitoring of the regulations. My strengths provide a strong emphasis on continual progression in all areas of residential services & residential family centres.
